About Pro Services

PRO Services Inc. is a multi-skilled trades contractor that provides maintenance and mechanical services to industrial, commercial, and residential customers alike. Since 1987, PRO Services Inc. has consistently provided dynamic solutions with safety, integrity, and efficiency from its headquarters in Southwest Michigan.

Early on it was understood from our founder that we are in the service and consulting business, and we just happen to do skilled trades and maintenance work. In order to deliver value to our customers by solving their biggest problems, our employees have to be #1. We are unapologetic with how we go about doing this. We are tenacious when it comes to our core values. Safety. Integrity. Pride. Teamwork. We live by these core values. We hire and fire by them. We have a set of core basic principles or talents that every member must have and demonstrate – Accountable, Initiative, Communication, and Inventive. We hold high standards. We care about results, not hours. We believe work and life are blended, not separate. Our strategy is broken down into four buckets: Talent Excellence, Operational Excellence, Financial Excellence, and Planning for the Future. We believe this type of strategy and culture creates the foundation to deliver value to our customers – value beyond the services. It is not enough to just do the work and for that matter to do it on time and within budget. Our customers expect more. We are a strategic partner, advisor, and extension of their team. We want the call when no one else will answer or do the work. We work. That is value beyond the services.

Our foundation is rooted in talent, culture, and teams. We believe if we have the best people, all working together, we create a culture that delivers superior value to our customers and delivers financially profitable results which are reinvested back into our people and team.  Every day our goal is to find and grow talent to be “One more like our best.”  One more like our best project manager. One more like our best accountant. One more like our best maintenance technician. One more like our best leader.

Thus, our best means our team members uphold our core values and basic principles and live them every day.

Our core values provide a framework for our employees when it comes to making decisions, setting goals, and building relationships. They serve as a compass, guiding actions and ensuring alignment with our basic principles.

Talent is not easily understood, and oftentimes confused with skill.  Talent is innate to a person.  It can’t be taught – only shaped and cultivated.  It is the raw material that makes up an individual.  We have a set of basic principles (talent attributes) that we believe should be part of every employee’s DNA as we have found these attributes fit our culture and help us deliver on our mission statement of “creating value beyond our services.” They are in addition to our core values, and the second layer to our foundation.

1987 – Pro Services was founded by Mike VandeMaele in Portage, MI as a Plumbing & Pipefitting company
1999 – Moved into our current office building on Merchant Place
2001 – Millwright, Fabrication, and HVAC divisions introduced
2009 – Pro FMT® Division (Full-Service Maintenance Teams) launched
2010 – Pro MEA (Maintenance Excellence Academy) launched
2013 – Machinery Alignment division introduced
2015 – Pro U (Maintenance Mechanic Apprenticeship & Training Solutions) created
2016 – Land purchased for the site of our future HQ
2018 – Northern Indiana piping division introduced
